HR Generalist

Job Description:

Position Overview


The HR Generalist will perform a broad range of professional Human Resources tasks, often in a confidential manner, to support policies and programs, including recruiting and retention, orientation, training and development, performance appraisal processes, benefits management, company-wide communications and legal compliance.



Essential Job Functions


? Oversee Human Resources functions at assigned location in coordination with Director of Human Resources and local management.


? Prepare and maintain employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.


? File EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.


? Maintain HR metrics


? Maintain OSHA logs to conform to state regulations.


? Conduct recruitment for open and new positions.


? Screen and schedule interviews with potential candidates.


? Check references, conduct background checks, and act as Policy Coordinator for drug testing program.


? Coordinate the hiring process by communicating with candidates and ensuring all paperwork is complete.


? Conduct employee orientations.


? Assist with training and development of personnel at all levels


? Maintain personnel records in accordance with appropriate confidentiality requirements.


? Provide assistance to management in matters of performance evaluations, employee relations, and discipline.


? Maintain unemployment and worker?s compensation documentation and act as point of contact at one of more locations.


? Coordinate employee benefits programs and open enrollment at one or more locations





? Serve as a resource on matters of personnel rules and regulations.


? Coordinate company meetings and events


? Serves as key contact for employee relations and assist management team with dispute mediation



Requirements


Bachelor?s Degree in Business or related field preferred


3-5 years of experience in the HR field.


Excellent communication, organizational, presentation and computer skills


Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality


PHR or SPHR certification preferred



Reports to the Human Resources Director
